Mesmerizing Sand Art

Standard

What this woman paints in your mind with sand is beyond incredible.  As she tells the story of the history of Ukraine I was mesmerized and amazed by how the images change within the blink of an eye. You can interpret what happens differently every time you watch it. After watching it a couple times I realized that it tells the sad story of a family during wars and bombings and hunger. Families fled and loved ones died. From the comments I heard that the last bit means “You are always near-by”.  The presentation was dramatic and incredibly sad but also realistic. I wanted to share this with everybody because I thought it was a beautiful portrait of talent.

  1. I really liked this piece of performance art as well – it is so sad and even more real still today than we think. She describes not just the history of Ukraine but the terrible toll war takes on people like you and i.
    Well done!
